Detroit — A new logistics company will be bringing 150 jobs to one of the hardest-hit areas of Detroit this fall.
Linc, a Universal Truckload Services company, is opening a new 500,000-square-foot facility at the Interstate-94 Industrial Park on the city’s east side. The company will be the first new tenant announced at the industrial park since the state made it a tax-free zone to help attract more jobs and investments to the city.
Mayor Mike Duggan, who was part of the team that lobbied the state to make the change, announced the development Tuesday.
“More companies are interested in opening and expanding in Detroit and we are starting to see them come to fruition,” Duggan said in a statement. “This new development is creating significant employment opportunities for Detroiters in an area of the city where jobs are needed the most.”
